Divide it into ‘question hour’, short discussion, ‘zero hour’

The ‘Declaration of Acceptance’ of the US government was addressed by prime minister, leader of the opposition and the floor leaders at a mock parliament ‘Cameral’ organised by Department of Social Sciences of Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College here on Thursday.

With Democratic Party as the ruling party and three opposition parties namely – Socialist, Communist and Republican covering various topics, the fifth edition of the model parliament provided an apt forum for students to discuss measures considered for effective governance, the recent achievement of the Indian Space Research Organisation in the space technology and demonetisation.

The session was divided into ‘question hour’, short discussion and ‘zero hour’.

Issues discussed

The ‘question hour’ lasted for one-and-a-half hours wherein the Opposition party brought key issues to the fore that impacted country’s economy and international relations.

The ‘question hour’ also covered other topics such as GST and digital India. The ‘calling attention motion’ was followed by ‘zero hour’ wherein the ‘government’ and ‘opposition parties’ discussed tourism, Make in India, FDI and mounting unemployment before the ‘House’ was adjourned.
