Skill development centre inaugurated

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao inaugurated a Skill Development Training Centre at the AU College of Arts here on Wednesday.

Language lab

He said the centre would provide training to students in communication and soft skills. A language lab would also be established at the centre. The objective was to make students ‘job-ready’. The first phase of the training programme would begin on Feb 13.

Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao said the ‘placement wings’ at various colleges were being strengthened.

Arts College Principal K. Gayatri, Executive Council member M. Prasada Rao, Director of the School of Distance Education Mohini, AU College of Engineering Principal P.S. Avadhani, AU College of Engineering for Women (AUCEW) Principal T. Subrahmanyam and Placement Officer N. Sambasiva Rao were among those who were present.
