VISAKHAPATNAM: The Padmanabham police on Saturday unravelled the mystery surrounding the murder of 19-year-old B. Ramu with the arrest of two persons on Saturday.
The youth was found murdered at an isolated place near Korada under the Padmanabham Police Station limits on February 8.
The police arrested the father and brother of Ramu’s fiancée on murder charge.
Inspector Y. Krishna Kishore Kumar said they arrested G. Srinu and his son G. Veerababu, both native of the Jonnaguddi area in Vizianagaram district.
The police said Ramu, a native of the Samcham area of Ranasthalam mandal in Srikakulam district, was an electrician by profession and used to do electrical decorations at marriage venues.
Ramu developed an affair with a girl and used to visit her village once a month.
On February 7, Ramu, after consuming liquor, had gone to the village on his motorcycle to meet the girl.
On coming to know about the affair, the girl’s father and brother had warned Ramu against continuing the relationship.
They entered into a heated argument and in a fit of rage thrashed Ramu.
They later took hom to the Korada area on a motorcycle and done him to death by smashing his head with a boulder.
During the course of investigation, the accused confessed to have committed the crime, the Inspector said.
