As part of the Gandhian policing method, the Chintapalli police released a wall newspaper at Teemulabanda village in Visakha Agency on Saturday, urging Maoists not to harm people and damage government property.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Chintapalli Ake Ravi Krishna, who started the Amma Pilupu (mother's call), got the wall newspaper released through Korra Akkojamma, one of the six Girijans injured when Maoists fired at a private jeep carrying Girijans and CRPF personnel last month. It has “Pancha Sutras”, urging Maoists not to harm the people, not to recruit children into their dalams, to send the sick woman Maoists back into the mainstream, protect the government properties because they are people's properties and not to obstruct government's programmes and schemes.
The wall newspaper, in Telugu and Hindi, urged the “Maoist brothers and sisters” not harm people and to take law into their own hands. Maoists by engaging children were violating the children's rights. All the children with the party must be admitted in the nearest schools, the Amma Pilupu said and wanted the Maoists to take an oath that they would not induct children into their dalams.
Later Mr. Ravi Krishna participated in a community lunch organised at the village. Inspector in-charge Janardhan Singh, Sub-Inspector T.N. Vijay Kumar, police personnel and CRPF personnel were present.
