VISAKHAPATNAM: Railway passengers buying tickets from the reservation counters can now swipe their debit or credit card to make payments through e-PoS machines provided at the Passenger Reservation Office at Visakhapatnam Railway Station.

Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee, accompanied by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Yelvender Yadav, commissioned four Point of Sale (PoS) machines for ticket bookings at the main reservation office here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Chandralekha Mukherjee appealed to the passengers to make use of the machines for cashless transactions, and said that the arrangement had been made possible with the support of the State Bank of India (SBI).

She said that the facility, introduced at reserved ticket counters, would soon be extended to unreserved ticket booking and parcel counters and other stations in the division in the course of time.
