There is no need for despair, for there are plenty of job opportunities for youth even during recession as there are many sectors untouched by the crisis, according to Director of Xinthe Technologies Pullela Sastry.

Delivering a talk on ‘Employability’ at the Maharajah’s PG College in Vizianagaram on Saturday while inaugurating The Hindu-Business Line Club for management students of the college, the HR expert of the software company in Visakhapatnam noted that three sectors – teaching, healthcare and food and agriculture units that escaped the impact of economic recession offered the potential and exhorted the students to improve their skills and communication abilities to shape their future. They should realise the distinction between getting a job and building up a career. Getting a job may not be that difficult, but building up a career calls for greater effort and intelligence and also planning, he stated.
Noting that there was a feeling among the students in rural areas that the students of premium institutes of learning would get all the plum jobs in the market, he said that that need not be so. Nowadays, it should not be too difficult for even students in rural areas to compete with the best.
He said it was also desirable to learn a foreign language – Spanish, French or German – as many multinationals are coming to India. “It will be an added qualification,” he advised the students.
Later, during the interactive session, Mr. Sastry told the HR students not to worry about career prospects for, even in the IT sector, there were openings in the domestic market.
