Kite festival on Jan. 15

With an objective to keep alive traditions and highlight the importance of Sankranti, the harvest festival, Bala Vikas Foundation and Lions Club of Visakhaptnam will be organising a kite festival-cum-competition on January 15 at 2.30 p.m. at R.K. Beach, opposite Viswapriya Function Hall.

There is no entry fee. People from all age groups can take part in the festival. Participants can also purchase kites at the special counters that will be set up at the venue on the day of the festival. A free training class in kite-making will be conducted on Tuesday at N.T. School at Akkayapalem by Varanasi Santosh Kumar. For details, contact 9032477463.
