Inter-school athletic meet gets underway

An ‘inter-school athletic meet’ was inaugurated by the VSP Director (personnel) Y.R. Reddy at the Kendriya Vidyalaya grounds in Ukkunagaram on Friday.

Addressing the school children, Mr. Reddy said that Vizag Steel has always been in forefront in encouraging sportspersons and reminded that steel plant employees brought laurels to the organisation by winning several medals. He appreciated the efforts of Sports Department and KV Management for reviving the athletic track at the KV grounds.

GM (Training & HRD) A. Radhakrishna, who is also Chairman of VSP Sports Committee, GM (mills) Wilson David, who is also Chairman of KV Management Committee, Principal G. Srinivasulu, vice-principal Preethi Roy, AGM (sports) M.S. Kumar and trade union leaders D. Adinarayana and Mantri Rajsekhar attended.

Children from 10 schools in Ukkunagaram participated. In all, 12 events and two relays were being held for both boys and girls in the two-day event.
