The two-day Vizag Steel Plant- RINL inter-school athletic meet for boys and girls was inaugurated by R. P. Srivastava, Executive Director (CS) on Thursday at Col. C K Nayudu Ukku Stadium here.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Srivastava said inter-school athletic meet was revived after a gap of two years. He complimented the sports department for their efforts in reviving the event. He assured that henceforth the event will be held annually and stressed upon physical fitness for a healthy life.
The players took out a colourful march past. Eleven Schools including DPS, De Paul, Visakha Vimala Vidyalaya, Ukkunagaram, VVVBC Road, KV Steel Plant, Marvel, Gajuwaka, SFS School,Gajuwaka, Little Angels Ukkunagaram, Chaitanya English Medium School and Siva Sivani School, are participating in the two-day meet.
The inaugural function was attended by plant officials T. Sunder, R. V. Rao, D.K.A.N. Murthy, M S Kumar, Mr. G Venkata Rao, Ms. Soumya, G Bose Babu and M. Anvesh. The two-day event will conclude on Friday.
