In a mission mode to train students for competitive exams

In a move to provide a concrete road map for civil service aspirants and those preparing for APPSC examinations, the Visakhapatnam Public Library Society is offering customised coaching by designing innovative modules.

Launching a poster at the library here on Thursday, secretary of the society D.S. Varma said each batch would be given an intensive training for three days in a week. “From public speaking to resume writing and conducting quiz, the modules will cover a wide range of subjects. The focus is on bridging the skill gap by equipping the aspirants with necessary study material and tailor-made training,” said Mr. Varma, adding that The Hindu , Education Plus and other supplements would be made available at the venue for the aspirants to enhance their knowledge.

Director of Centre for Policy Studies A. Prasanna Kumar told the students to choose the right hobby as it would form a part of the resume. “Developing a worthwhile hobby such as gardening and painting will help in kindling the creativity. This apart, aspirants should get their concepts right and be aware of their hometown, State and country,” he said.

President of society S. Vijay Kumar said the free training programme was a step towards empowering the youth and building a better society. After launching the poster, Vice-Chairman and managing director of Vijaynagar Biotech D. Ranga Raju confirmed that he would be providing financial support to the tune of Rs.1 lakh a month towards the initiative.

When Mr. Raju visited the library a few weeks ago, he said he was impressed to see a large number of students spending hours at the venue, preparing for Civil Services and other group examinations.
