IT entrepreneurs bat for IIDT campus

It should be developed on the lines of ISB, they say

IT entrepreneurs from the city have raised a strong pitch for setting up of the regional campus of the International Institute of Digital Technology (IIDT)-Tirupati at the Sunrise Incubation Hub, Rushikonda, here.

The extension centre is touted to be developed on the lines of the Indian School of Business (ISB)-Hyderabad after collaborating with leading corporates and multinationals. Special Chief Secretary and IT Advisor to Chief Minister J.A. Chowdary promised them to consider it at an appropriate time, reliable sources told The Hindu .

He told IT entrepreneurs that with the consent of the government after observing response to the admission notification for the first batch they would consider the request going by the importance attached to Visakhapatnam as the IT capital of Sunrise AP.

IT Association of AP president Ravi E, secretary Sridhar K, Rushikonda IT Association vice-president O. Naresh Kumar and others brought to the notice of Mr. Chowdary during his recent visit to the city that the services of academic experts being flown to Tirupati to deliver special lectures could be used for the extension centre of IIDT here.

Mr. Chowdary, who is credited with playing a key role in developing Cyberabad in Hyderabad, clarified that he would bring their request to the notice of the government based on the response to the entrance test being conducted for the first batch for the Tirupati campus on January 8.

IIDT, a prestigious project conceived by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in his native Chittoor district close to Chennai and Bengaluru, is conducting 11-month PG diploma courses in cyber security and data analytics.
