Hirakhand Express derails

Two general coaches and four sleeper bogies of Bhubaneswar-bound 18448 Hirakhand Express derailed at Kuneru railway station, about 30 km from Rayagada, in Vizianagaram district on Saturday midnight.

According to reports, at least five persons are feared dead and several others are injured as the train jumped the rails. However, officials are yet to confirm the deaths.

Meanwhile, special relief van and medical teams have rushed to the spot to take up relief operations.

Senior railway officials led by Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee, left for the spot to supervise relief measures
