Gangavaram Port launches green drive

Gangavaram Port has launched a special drive to plant some 7,000 saplings within the port premises.

The initiative was taken up in connection with the World Environment Day celebrations. The port management is encouraging people to plant trees to promote green surroundings at the port and also to instil a sense of responsibility in each individual towards the environment, a release stated.

In line with its commitment towards a clean and green environment for Visakhapatnam, the port has already planted over 10,000 saplings in the first year of its operations and targets to plant 50,000 saplings in next one year, the release stated.
