Free call forwarding facility for BSNL mobile users

Here is good news for BSNL mobile users. The public sector Telecom giant has launched a Free To Home Service for forwarding BSNL mobile calls to BSNL landline.

They can now forward the calls they receive on their mobile number, both Postpaid and Prepaid BSNL mobile numbers of an LSA (Licensed Service Area), to any BSNL landline number within that LSA free of cost.

This feature will be very useful to subscribers, who have poor mobile signal inside their house. There are some areas in the city and district, where the signal is weak either due to BSNL confining to the stipulated radiation limits or due to shortage of cell towers.

BSNL does not increase the radiation beyond the permissible limit, unlike some private mobile operators who increase the radiation limits to increase the signal strength, even if that could prove to be harmful to the users and the environment.

Mobile users need no longer be worried about missing the call due to poor voice quality or the mobile battery going low. No charge would be levied on the mobile number forwarding the call. However, calls can also be forwarded to any BSNL landline number outside the LSA on chargeable basis.

The call forwarding by BSNL mobile number to home LSA BSNL landline number would work even in the scenario when the said mobile number is national roaming in another LSA.

Subscribers can visitwww.bsnl.co.inor call on the toll free no. 1800 180 1503 for details.

“The facility is particularly useful to minimise the harmful effect of cell phone radiation, when one has access to their landline,” Principal General Manager, Visakhapatnam Telecom District, R.M.M. Krishna said and added that a ‘re-connection mela’, which began on Monday, would be on till the June-end to subscribers, whose landlines were disconnected for any reason in the past. The outstanding bill could be paid in instalments.
