20-year-old girl ‘raped’ by minor boyfriend

The accused gave her a drink laced with alcohol, say police

A 20-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her minor boyfriend at Kailasagiri under Arilova police station limits late Wednesday night. The accused allegedly called three more persons to the scene of crime, but the gang rape attempt was foiled by the police and the girl was rescued.

The incident came to light after the police registered a case. According to ACP (Dwaraka Zone) R.V.S.N. Murthy, the victim and her boyfriend, an ITI student, went to Kailasagiri on Wednesday afternoon. “After spending some time there, the accused allegedly offered her a drink laced with alcohol. After the girl became drowsy, the boy took her to an isolated place and allegedly raped her,” the ACP said.

According to police, the main accused also called his three friends to the scene of crime. But, they fled after seeing the police patrolling team. The police found the girl in an unconscious state and shifted her to King George Hospital (KGH). Acting on a tip-off, the police have identified all the four accused hailing from Jodugullapalem area.

Juvenile taken into custody

The two accused have been arrested, while the juvenile have been taken into custody. The police have booked cases under Sections of 376 (J) and 376 (G) of IPC. Further investigation is on.

Meanwhile, K. Padma of Mahila Chetha said that family members of the victim was unaware that the girl had a boyfriend and they were thinking that she went for tuition until they got a call from the police.
