19-day Swachh drive gets under way

Devotees and office-bearers of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations taking part in ‘Swachata Se Divyata Tak’ programme at KGH in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Hundreds of devotees, students and teachers of Sri Sathya Sai Schools took part in the 19-day ‘Swachhata Se Divyata Tak’ programme that began here on Monday.

The programme is being organised by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSO) and on the first day volunteers took part in the cleaning of roads, drainage, schools and government hospitals in different parts of the city, such as KGH area, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Township and Gopalapatnam.

Swachh rally

The NCC cadets of 13 Andhra Battalion of Mrs. AVN College organised a Swachh Bharat rally on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastry and here on Monday. The rally was led by Capt. Dr. N. Ramakrishna, NCC Officer of the College and flagged off by E. Annapurna, Principal of the college. The rally was taken out from the college to Velamapeta.
