Forming committees comprising students, faculty and parents, holding awareness meetings and prominently displaying provisions of the Anti-Ragging Act were among the measures required to prevent ragging, Joint Collector (Two) D.V. Reddy said at the District Coordination Committee meeting on Monday. The onus of implementing the act and preventing ragging was on the managements, he said.

Andhra University Registrar V. Uma Maheswara Rao said within 15 days of admissions Freshers’ Day should be organised.

Psychiatrists and professional counsellors should be appointed depending upon need. Revenue Divisional Officers Padmavati, Surya Rao and Venkateswara Rao and Police officials, principals, representatives of managements and hostel administrators participated.
