‘Marine expo’ from today

A ‘marine exhibition’, is being organised by the Fishery Survey of India in association with the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical Engineering and Training (CIFNET) and the National Institute of Fisheries Post Harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT), at its premises near the Fishing Harbour on the Beach Road on Feb 2 and 3.

The expo will be inaugurated on Thursday. It will be kept open to the public from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. Fish specimens, models of fishery survey vessels, craft and gears, fishery charts, navigational equipment and other aspects related to fishing would be displayed and explained to the public, according to Senior Fisheries Scientist K. Govindaraj.

Documentary films on marine environment and fish and fisheries would be screened.
