The richness and glory of Telugu hospitality was celebrated in various programmes and contest conducted by the Westin College of Hotel Management.

The inauguration of the celebrations by popular Telugu film comedian Krishnudu was followed by Kuchipudi dance by up-and-coming dancer D. Alakananda Devi. Sky lanterns floated lazily into the sunset even as a faculty member rendered “Maa Telugu Thalli Ki Mallepudanda” with a great deal of melody.

The college conducted cooking, rangoli and other contests that allowed the participants to show their knowledge of Telugu culture. There was overwhelming response to the Telugu dishes cooking contest.

The judges had a pretty difficult time to decide on who was the winner.

The ‘muggulu poti’ was also very popular with participants using their creativity to portray the essence of Telugu culture in their rangoli work. The students staged skits and playlets from famous Telugu literary works to regale the audience that consisted mostly of students, faculty and parents of Westin College.
