The narrow, single lane road to the office-cum-residence of YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in Tadepalli became ‘treacherous’ on Monday with the Electricity Department digging a trench on one side of it for laying of underground power cables.
The narrow road to Mr. Jagan’s house runs parallel to the bank of Buckingham Canal. Police department regulated traffic by making use of another single lane road on top of the canal bank. A proposal was made to widen the road to the YSRCP chief’s house by removing the power poles, for which an underground power cable has to be laid.
The digging of the trench has shrunk the road further and the parking of huge excavators at work has made it impossible for bigger vehicles to move on the road.
However, there is a mud road on the back, which the convoy used to bring the Chief Minister-designate to his home from the airport.
