The State government is contemplating launching village public radios for better and continuous communication. The idea is to strengthen the communication system in villages and gear up the residents during natural calamities.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asked Real Time Governance (RTG) and AP Fibernet officials to explore the possibility of launching village radios, at a review meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said data storage plays a key role in development programmes. The future was dependent on knowledge economy and better results could be achieved if data was used effectively, he said.

Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar said drones would be used to identify potholes on roads. Mapping of 70,000 km rural roads would be taken up . Free Wi-Fi facility would be provided at 4,000 identified places in urban areas and 27,093 places in rural areas. Virtual classrooms would be completed by September, he said.
