Chairman of Vignan Group of Educational Institutions Lavu Rathaiah on Friday joined the YSR Congress in the presence of YSRC president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy at the latter’s home in Hyderabad. Mr Jagan welcomed Dr. Rathaih into the party and draped the party scarf around him.

Party leaders Ravi Venkata Ramana and Lakshmi Parvathi accompanied Dr. Rathaiah.

For the 62-year old Dr. Rathaiah, who had contested Lok Sabha election on Lok Satta ticket from Malkajgiri in 2009, the entry into YSRC, just days before the general election, has opened up some interesting possibilities.

Though Dr. Rathaiah was quick to add that he had not sought any ticket, party sources said that he could be a candidate either at Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat, Ongole Lok Sabha or even Guntur West Assembly segment.
