Venkaiah Naidu to inaugurate new SPA campus today

The 9.66-acre green Institution boasts solar heaters and solid waste management

Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the new campus of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Vijayawada, on the ITI Road, at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday.

The inauguration will be followed by the school’s third convocation at 11 a.m. at the Thummalapalli Kalakshetram, where 288 students will receive degrees and achievers will be felicitated with gold medals. One of the three SPAs in the country, the school, established as an institution of national importance in the fields, offers two undergraduate, five graduate and doctoral programmes.

Collaborations

Union Secretary of the Department of Higher Education R. Subrahmanyam, and acclaimed architect, conservationist and the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the SPA Brinda Somaya have been taking keen interest in the growth of the institution. The school has signed MoUs with several national and international institutions and has been undertaking research projects.
