A vehicle which was part of Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s convoy was involved in a minor accident at Gannavaram on Wednesday.
According to the police, the last vehicle of the convoy hit a motorcyclist who was attempting to cross the Kolkata-Chennai national highway near Chaitanya School. The convoy was heading to Swarna Bharathi Trust in Atkuru from the airport.
“Even before the convoy passed the area, a motorcyclist crossed the rope and proceeded to the other side of the road unaware of the last vehicle in the convoy. The motorcycle hit the car and the riders fell down. They sustained minor injuries,” Gannavaram inspector K. Sridhar Kumar told The Hindu .
However, locals stopped the car and had an argument with the driver. The issue was settled with the intervention of police officials.
