Two mega, 13 large industries to come up in Krishna dist.

The industrial sector in Krishna district is showing signs of brisk development considering the slew of mega units which are in advanced stages of grounding .

Three mega industries, including the 800 MW-unit of Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station (NTTPS), are in the process of beginning commercial production. VBC Fertilizers’ manufacturing unit at Jayanthipuram near Jaggaiahpet and Satyavathi Minerals and Metals Limited (SMML)’s titanium dioxide making unit at Gudimetla near Chandarlapadu are the other mega units coming up with an investment of Rs 8,100 crore (VBC Rs 7,000 crore and SMML Rs 1,100 crore).

The NTTPS expansion project will be costing nearly Rs 5,000 crore. According to the Joint Director of Industries Department, G. Rajendra Prasad, 13 large units with an aggregate investment of nearly Rs 600 crore are in different stages of completion . Sentini Bio Products Limited (SBPL)’s extra neutral alcohol and rectified spirit unit at Gandepalli near Kanchikacherla is the venture with an investment of Rs. 245 crore.
