Tributes paid to K.S. Vyas

Students attend parade

Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang saluted the bust of slain IPS officer K.S. Vyas and paid homage to the officer at Vyas Complex, on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Commemoration Day, here on Monday.

Senior police officers garlanded the bust of Vyas and paid tributes to him. Vyas was chased and shot dead by Naxalites, after killing his security personnel, in Hyderabad.

At a programme held at the Andhra Pradesh Police Headquarters at Mangalagiri, Mr. Sawang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axis Bank officials for providing insurance coverage titled ‘Power Salute’ package up to ₹30 lakh to home guards and ₹40 lakh for policemen, in case of death.

RPF parade

Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Sachin Balude and other officers placed a wreath and paid tributes to the policemen who died in discharging their duties.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel organised a commemoration day parade and paid homage to the personnel killed in the fight against the Naxalites and anti-social elements.

Students of various schools and colleges attended the commemoration parade and paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the pylon.

Felicitated

Police Commissioner Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao felicitated the family members of the slain policemen.

He distributed prizes to the students who won the essay writing, drawing, slogan writing and other competitions organised during the Police Commemoration Week.
