Moving over from the conventional manual method of issuing trade licences, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is now taking steps for issue of trade licences online for ensuring transparency and speedy delivery.
Following an inspection at the seventh and 24th sanitary divisions here on Saturday, VMC Commissioner G. Veerapandian instructed officials to do away with the conventional method of maintaining trade licence records.
Officials were also told to upload details of the procedure of applying for trade licences and the necessary documents required for obtaining licences.
Poor maintenance
Later, inspecting facilities at the Rythu Bazaar at Patamata, the Commissioner expressed displeasure over the poor maintenance of the premises.
Sanitation
Noticing trash strewn all over the premises, he directed officials to provide more dumper bins and ensure that waste is dumped in the bins.
He interacted with residents of Scavenger Colony on the supply of drinking water and garbage collection by sanitary staff, said a press release.
