Temple city secures 4th place in 'Ease of Living Index'

Registering a significant improvement, the Tirupati railway station secured the third place in the recently released 'Swachh Rail – Swachh Bharat' rankings, under A1 station category. With an overall cleanliness score of 96.5%, which indicates a percentage change of 30.9% from its last year's score, the railway station leaped from 19th rank to securing a place in the top three stations in the newly released rankings. Falling under the South Central Railway zone, the Tirupati railway station registered a total of 964.96 points (out of 1000), tabulated via scores taken from process evaluation, direct observation and citizen feedback, in this year's cleanliness assessment. Tirupati Station Director K. Satyanarayana expressed happiness over the distinction and congratulated the entire team for working towards making the railway station, one of the best transit points in the country. “We will take this recognition as an inspiration to our efforts and work towards securing the first rank in the future,” he added. The railway stations under A1 category are those who have registered more than Rs.50 crore in annual passenger revenue. Meanwhile, the temple city of Tirupati secured 4th place in 'Ease of Living Index', among 111 cities across the country, making it one among the top five 'Most Liveable Cities in India'.
