The Telugu Desam Party’s organisational polls have been postponed in view of the government’s decision to appoint In-charge Ministers for each district.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to told district leaders/conveners of the party that In-charge Ministers would be appointed by Tuesday night.

The party leadership, therefore, decided to postpone the organisational polls pending appointment of In-charge Ministers who would supervise the process. The TDP district units will now have to reschedule the election dates based on the appointment of In-charge Ministers.

According to the original schedule, the elections were to be conducted at Sri Ramraju Convention Centre at Machilipatnam on May 16 at 10 a.m. Similarly, the urban committee elections were also for the same day.

TDP district convener Bachula Arjunudu and urban convener Buddha Venkanna are in the race for the posts of party district president and urban president.
