TDP MLCs stall proceedings over village wall

It was built to deny way to party sympathisers, they allege

The Telugu Desam Party MLCs stalled the proceedings of the Legislative Council for over 20 minutes after the Chairman, M.A. Shariff, refused to allow an adjournment motion on the construction of a wall across a road at Panugupadu village in Phirangipuram mandal of Guntur district.

The TDP MLCs alleged that there was no law and order in the Home Minister’s own mandal. The MLCs demanded to know how many days it would take for the government to bring down the wall which was built to deny way to families that were sympathetic to the TDP.

The MLCs relented only when the Deputy CM (Revenue) Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose intervened and said that he would speak to the District Collector and get the problem resolved.

8 Bills passed

The Council tabled, discussed and passed eight important Bills, including the Bill to provide 75% of employment to local candidates in industries and factories and the Bill to further amend the A.P. (regulations of trade in Indian made foreign liquor, foreign liquor) Act, 1993.
