‘Systematic and scientific approach lead to success’

Speakers at ‘Spectrum-2014’ seminar exhort students to become good team players

Noted scientist T.R.K. Chetty on Monday said a systematic and scientific approach combined with common sense is the secret of success.

Participating as the chief guest at the inter-collegiate competitions, ‘Spectrum-2014’, organised by Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala here, he said: “Discipline, dedication and determination will make one achieve one’s goals.” He advised students to think originally and not to follow anyone blindly. “Be a good listener, and ultimately, follow your conscience while taking a decision,” Mr. Chetty added.

He said students should not leave the game following failure but try again till the contest is won. “Make use of adversity as an opportunity through sincerity in approach and honesty in application. Be a good team member to become a successful leader,” he said. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Scientist and Project Manager J. Venkateswarlu explained the various initiatives taken up by the organisation in the defence sector.

Principal T. Vijaya Lakshmi said more than 200 students from 15 colleges were be participating in the two-day event. Students are taking part in a series of programmes, including presentation of papers on mathematics, statistics, physics, electronics, applied nutrition, botany, zoology, microbiology and bio-chemistry.

Debates and quiz competitions are also organised as part of the event, she said, adding that the valedictory ceremony would be held on Tuesday.
