Sports coaching camps from May 1

The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) will conduct summer coaching camps for students below 16 years of age, said the corporation commissioner G. Ravi Babu.

Camps would be conducted from May 1 to 31, between 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Expert coaches, physical education teachers and players in different events will train the students in the camps, said Mr. Ravi Babu.

Training

Coaching will be given in athletics, shuttle badminton, ball badminton, boxing, cricket, caroms, chess, football, hockey, handball, kabaddi, kho-kho, netball, swimming, skating, yoga, throwball, volleyball, table tennis and other events.

Training would be held at Makineni Basavapunnaiah Stadium, Singhnagar, Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Indoor Stadium, Gandhiji Municipal Stadium, Railway Ground, Satyanarayanapuram, APSRCM School, Krishna Lanka, Chennupati Ramakotaiah Indoor Stadium, AKTPMCH School, Satyanarayanapuram, Railway Stadium, SKPV High School, One Town, Sir Vijji Swimming Pool, Gandhinagar, Gurunanaknagar Swimming Pool and Dr. K.L. Rao Nagar Swimming Pool and other venues.

Those interested are requested to attend coaching at their respected places and avail themselves of the facility, said the commissioner.
