The State government is contemplating preserving the people’s determination to construct a Capital city in a time capsule. As many as 16,000 holy yellow letters would be kept the in time capsule, according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a teleconference here on Friday, Mr. Naidu said that the government would collect the letters from 16,000 villages. It would be helpful for future generations to understand the sentiments and history of their ancestors, he said, adding: “The new capital will be our legacy for future generations and it shall act as economic, social and cultural centre for the state.”
The Chief Minister said that the celebrations would |commence from October 13 and culminates with the foundation ceremony on October 22 at Amaravati. ‘Mana Matti-Mana Neer- Mana Amaravati’ (Our soil-our water-our Amaravati), ‘Amaravati Sankalpa Jyothi’ (a sacred torch rally from) and etc would be part of the celebrations.
As part of Mana Matti-Mana Neeru- Mana Amaravati, soil from 16,000 villages would be collected . The soil would be collected from rivers/canal/vaagu/drinking water source or Putta mannu (Anthill soil) and a quantity of one kg will be collected . All the 16,000 soil bags would be received at Amaravati on October 20. The soil would be used in the construction of a monument along with the river water collected from all major rivers and tributaries in the State and the country, he said.
Sacred torch rallies from all villages would culminate at Amaravati, he added.
