Skill development scheme for SC youth

Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu on Saturday said the State government had plans to impart skill development programmes on 1 lakh SC youth and provide them with decent jobs.

Participating in a skill development training programme designed for SC youth as part of Chandranna Cheyutha scheme in Vijayawada, the Minister said the whole exercise was aimed at achieving social equality. Additional Joint Collectors, district-level officers of Social Welfare Department and officials of District Industries Centres from 13 districts across the State participated in the programme.

The government action plan envisaged provision of jobs and self-employment units to the SC youth to achieve economic parity, he said. AP SCC Finance Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation CEO Ganta Subbarao, Special Secretary D. K. Singh, SC Corporation Directors Prabhakar Rao, and G. Devanand participated.
