The adamant attitude of the Senior Divisional Manager is the reason for the death of the wife of Bhavani Prasad, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe LIC Employees Welfare Association Machilipatnam Division general secretary Ch. Sobhan Kumar has alleged.
He said the employees would launch hunger strike from Monday for the cause of employees’ rights.
Justifying their reason for the ongoing gate protest and relay hunger strike in front of the Divisional Office, he said the Senior Divisional Manager was showing autocratic behaviour towards employees.
The protests, which began on Wednesday, were against the “inaction” of the LIC management to follow the Central Office Circulars in respect of transfer and postings, he said. Members of the upper caste had recently harassed SC/ST employees at the Jaggaiahpet branch, but the management had not taken any action, Mr. Sobhan Kumar alleged.
