Launching a campaign on paperless ticketing system, officials of the Commercial Department, South Central Railway (SCR), have appealed to passengers to make use of the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) on mobile App.

To promote the use of the App, offficers of the commercial wing organised demos in various educational institutions in Guntur and Krishna districts on Wednesday.

Dump the paper and queues

“The system will save time and help passengers avoid waiting in queues,” said Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) P. Srinivas.

The UTS mobile App was launched in Vijayawada last July, and in one year 91,236 passengers have used it, the DRM said.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Pinreddy Bhaskar Reddy said the division has earned ₹.20.42 lakh through the UTS mobile app. He appealed to passengers to make use of the paperless ticketing system.

5% bonus on recharge

“Through UTS mobile App, passengers can purchase unreserved, platform and season tickets. Users can create a Railway Wallet (R-Wallet) and avail 5% bonus on every recharge to the wallet,” Mr. Bhaskar Reddy said.
