SCR installs 33 ATVMS in Vijayawada divn.

The Vijayawada division of South Central Railway (SCR) installed 33 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) at Gudur, Singarayakonda, Bapatla, Powerpet, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Kakinada Town, Tuni, Anakapalli, Kaikaluru, Bhimavaram Junction, Tanuku, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali, Eluru, Kovvur, Dwarapudi, Kakinada Port, Elamanchili, Gudivada, Akividu, Palakollu, Kavali, Chirala, Vijayawada, Tadepalligudem, Godavari, Samalkot, Annavaram, Narsipatnam Road, Machilipatnam, and Narsapur stations.

Passengers have to purchase Smart Cards from the enquiry counters at the stations for Rs. 70 each. The cards could be recharged with amounts up to Rs. 5,000 in multiples of Rs. 50. They would be valid for one year from the last recharge date. The smart cards can be used at any ATVM in SCR.

Passengers would be eligible for a bonus of 5 per cent of the fare up to a distance of 150 kilometres.

For instance, a passenger recharging with Rs. 100 could purchase tickets for Rs. 105.
