Sanitation at hospitals hit

The ongoing strike by municipal workers has thrown life out of gear at health centres in rural areas and a few government hospitals in the Krishna district.

AP Pollution Control Board has entrusted the task of disposing waste generated by hospitals to ‘Safenviron’ but heaps of waste papers, garbage and food items are seen dumped on hospital premises, posing threat to patients.

“If workers of Safenviron fail to come, our staff carries out the task of incinerating the bio-waste,” says District Medical and Health Officer R. Nagamalleswari.
