The RTA office road, which leads to the RTA office, Deputy Transport Commissioner's office and Roads and Buildings Superintendent Engineer's Office, has turned into a pool of slush throwing a challenge to motorists as well as pedestrians owing to recent rains.

For motorcyclists, a ride on the long stretch is nothing but an adventure of manoeuvring on a slippery surface.

Even a small mistake on the part of the rider can land him and the vehicle in the slush.

Ironically, most of the road users include novice motorists seeking learner’s license or permanent driving license and those coming with their newly bought vehicles. Alongside the dirt road neglected for years, a huge multi-storeyed building of Roads and Buildings Department is coming up. Every day hundreds of people visit the transport office for various purposes.

‘Worst experience’

“We can’t ride fast or go slow on the stretch. We have to balance the vehicle without stopping. This looks like one of the worst roads in the city,” a visitor to RTA office said. Not only public but the officials of RTA office are also facing problems owing to the poor condition of the road. The road was once closed for public use due to various reasons and official had to enter the road from rear side near Bandar Canal. The road is supposed to be maintained by the civic body.
