The Rail Mazdoor Union has affiliated with Telugu Nadu Trade Union Council, a trade union arm of Telugu Desam Party, at NTR Trust Bhavan on Friday.
RMU general secretary Tarinikanti Srinivas said that the RMU hereafter would work under leadership of Mr. Naidu. The RMU got affiliated to the TNTUC keeping in view of the welfare of railway workers in Andhra Pradesh. The affiliation has instilled new hopes and confidence among the workers, he added.
The TDP leader assured that his party would extend all its support in resolving the issues of railway employees. Mr. Naidu also told that the TDP MPs would take up the problems and issues with the Railway Minister, he said.
Mr. Srinivas said that a Federation of Trade Unions affiliated to regional parties in different states would be floated soon.
