Municipal corporation school student wants to become aeronautical engineer

Cheerapa Bangaru Raju, son of a rickshaw-puller Cheerapa Gurumurthy, a student of the Annapurna Devi Municipal Corporation High School, Kothapeta, here, scored 9.8 Grade Point Average (GPA) marks in the SSC examination. Bangaru Raju, who won many prizes in essay writing and other competitions, wants to become an aeronautical engineer.

Three other students, Phaila Bhaskar Rao, Korada Teja Venkata Pavan Kumar and Vasa Rajeshwari, of the school scored 9.7, 9.7 and 9.2 GPA respectively. Pavan Kumar’s father, K. Simhachalam, is also a rickshaw-puller.

A resident of Tummavari Veedhi in the city, Bangaru Raju was good at studies and other extra-curricular activities, said school headmistress M. Surya Prabha and congratulated the student on the achievement.

Pavan Kumar, who is good at stage plays, wants to become a doctor and serve the poor, said the headmistress. Bhaskar Rao’s father is a daily wage labourer, and he wants to become a software engineer,

Rajeshwari’s mother, V. Parvathi, is a labourer and the student wants to become a chartered accountant. The students thanked the teachers for encouraging them to score good marks in the SSC exams, the results of which ere announced recently.

“Annapurna Devi Municipal Corporation School students bagged many awards and the institution achieved good results. Our students are always in the forefront in highlighting environmental, language and other social issues.

The ‘Sanchayika’ (money savings) launched by the students to help the poor gave good results. Many donors encouraged our students,” said Ms. Surya Prabha and thanked the donors for their help.
