Reverse tenders soon in urban housing projects: Minister Botcha

Municipal Administration Minister Botcha Satyanarayana said that the government has decided to go for reverse tendering in urban housing projects and issued necessary instructions to the A.P. Town and Infrastructure Development Corporation (AP-TIDCO).

A notification for it would be issued soon in accordance with the guidelines being evolved, he said in a press release.

In addition to the houses being constructed under government schemes, certain infrastructure works undertaken by the AP-TIDCO would be put through reverse tendering process to achieve the known objective of saving taxpayers’ money.

Various works under implementation would be reviewed and notification issued, for which Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had already given in-principle clearance.

This was in tune with the government’s resolve to take a critical view of the projects which were awarded at exorbitant costs during the TDP regime in blatant violation of norms, he said in the pres release.

The Municipal Administration Department was taking steps to invite reverse tenders in the said housing and infra projects, he added.
