Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday asked officials to develop a fool-proof delivery mechanism in implementation of the welfare programmes to ensure cent per cent satisfaction level among people.

Addressing a review meeting of the heads of various departments and district Collectors at the Secretariat, Mr. Naidu pointed to the fact that the State had achieved highest growth rate despite bifurcation-related problems. Mr. Naidu acknowledged the sincere efforts of the officials in the last four years that had helped the State achieve good growth rate. He said the Grama Darsini programme launched last week would continue till year-end .

Under this programme, he wanted the officials to visit villages twice a week to know the field-level problems and resolve the issues.

Referring to the current rainy season, he called for efforts to increase the ground water table as farmers in the rain-fed areas of Rayalaseema faced problems due to deficit rainfall. He urged the officials to aim for 15 % growth rate to make sure that AP stood first at the national level.

Preparation of action plan, he said, was crucial to reach the next level of development with priority set for creating a knowledge economy and employment generation.

Flagship schemes

He also reviewed progress of flagship programmes like the Public Distribution System (PDS), NTR Bharosa, Chandranna Beema, Chandranna Pelli Kanuka, Anna canteens and other welfare schemes for SC, ST communities. Reacting to information that 77 % satisfaction level was achieved in the PDS, the Chief Minister wanted the officials to take action against erring dealers and streamline the system and enhance the satisfaction level of the people. Mr. Naidu asked the officials to set up the proposed 103 Anna canteens by this year-end and develop greenery around them. Directing the officials to expedite implementation of housing schemes, both in urban and the rural areas, he said a decision on unemployment dole would be taken at the next Cabinet meeting.
