Police to conduct in-depth probe

January 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The incident of a missing woman of the city who surfaced in a Madrasa in Bangalore has alerted the police establishment.

The city police have decided to conduct an in-depth probe into the case involving Shaik Raheemunnisa (24) who went missing along with her daughter Sk. Tabassum (4). The inquiry is focussed on how Ms. Raheemunnisa knew about the Madrasa situated in Bangalore, her contacts with the organisers of the institution and why she chose the institution in Bangalore, besides how she could reach the city.

They are also inquiring the family members about whether Ms. Raheemunnisa studied in any Arabic school in the past and whether she had been to Bangalore earlier. “We suspect that Mr. Basha did not give us the exact reasons for the disappearance of Raheemunnisa. Once she is summoned, we will know the details about why she travelled to Bangalore and joined the Madrasa,” said Patamata Circle K. Damodar.
