MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) has said that works pertaining to Kaza-Pedavutapalli six-lane bypass will commence very shortly as the land acquisition process for the project has almost completed.
The 48-km six lane bypass works are being taken up by the Gammon India firm under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. Referring to the increasing traffic woes in the city, the MP wanted the authorities to focus on the long-pending flyover construction works at Kanaka Durga temple and from Benz Circle to Ramesh Hospital.
In a special meeting with the National Highways of Authority of India Project Director Sridhar here on Saturday, the MP sought the details on the progress of the two projects.
In a statement here, Mr. Nani said that the two flyovers were very essential to address the traffic problems in the city and wanted the officials expedite the works of the two projects.
It was decided that the MP would participate in a one-day study tour of the Benz Circle- Ramesh Hospital flyover project.
Project reportLater, Mr. Nani studied the project report and maps of the 48-km Inner Ring Road and instructed the Project Director to prepare the reports for taking up the rest of the works at the earliest.
He instructed the officials to divert traffic, especially heavy vehicles from Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad from entering the city. . He said efforts were being made to commence the 110-km Outer Ring Road project.
