National Cadet Corps-1(A) EME-Company, as part of the “My Earth and My Duty” initiative, organised a tree plantation programme on the premises of V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College here on Monday, in which over 90 cadets of both from VRSEC and P.V.P. Siddhartha Institute of Technology, took part enthusiastically.

First sapling

The NCC Commander M.Z.U. Siddique, who planted the first sapling, said that NCC was always involved in social service and community development programmes to inculcate a sense of compassion for environment and understanding the problems of pollution among the cadets.

Environment

He also explained the cadets how tree plantation helps the environment and the mankind in the long run.

He said that his unit was actively involved in other social activities such as blood donation, adult education, clean and green and adoption of orphanage. College NCC Officer M.S.V.D. Sudarsan of VRS Engineering College and caretaker S. Srinivasa Rao of PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology co-ordinated the event.
