A two-year-old Yanadi tribal girl on Wednesday was reunited with her parents by the Indian Railway authorities and the Krishna District Child Welfare Committee (CWC). According to Gudivada police, the child was found alone by the railway police in a coach in the Kondaveedu Express when it arrived at the Gudivada station around 6 a.m.

The railway police rescued the baby and produced her before the Child Welfare Committee Chairman B.V.S. Kumar by evening. The child was believed to have boarded the train (17212-Yashwantpur-Machilipatnam Express) at the Vijayawada railway station while her parents were sleeping on the platform. How the baby could board the train was not known. Meanwhile, the parents of the girl had lodged a complaint with the railway police in Vijayawada and continued their search for the girl until they traced the child. In the early hours of Wednesday, the Yanadi couple, belong to Kavali town in Nellore district, arrived at Vijayawada railway station to board some other train.
