Medical camp to detect breast cancer held

A woman's risk of developing breast cancer increases as she gets older, said N. Subba Rao, oncologist from the city-based Anil Cancer Centre, on Tuesday.

Addressing a group of women who underwent mammography after being examined at a medical camp organised to detect breast cancer among women, by Roots Health Foundation, in association with Anumolu Adarana Charitable Trust at Poranki, Dr. Rao said self-examination should be part of a woman's monthly health care routine and she should visit the doctor if she experiences breast changes.

“If you are over 40 or at a high risk for the disease, you should have an annual mammogram and physical examination by a doctorTrust chairman Anumolu Prabhakar, M. Paramesh of Poranki village and others were present.
