‘Machilipatnam port execution a challenge’

Krishnapatnam Port Director and CEO Y. Anil on Thursday said that Machilipatnam port works would be launched as soon as the State government completed land acquisition.

He was speaking at an interactive programme organised by the Andhra Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation here. Mr. Anil was part of the delegation that visited China along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

He said there were many challenges in the execution of Machilipatnam port, including geographical conditions such as loose soil. Notwithstanding, Navayuga Company which bagged the contract was determined to complete the project, he said.

The port would be a major trade centre close to the capital city and would help in developing the State . Even Telangana government was keen on development of Machilipatnam port as it was the only port close to it, he said.
