Two of India’s best known business conglomerates -- Larsen and Toubro (L&T) and Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. (SPCL) – have filed technical bids for construction of the Secretariat.

The bids are scheduled to be finalised on February 10 when a decision will be taken on the price bids also.
Work orders will be issued on the same day, according to official sources.
The CRDA has proposed to construct the Secretariat in an area of six lakh square feet at an estimated cost of Rs. 180 crore.
Work will be undertaken in three packages of Rs. 60 crore each.
Incentive
To get the project completed on time, the State government offered two per cent incentive for completing the construction in four months and one per cent for reaching the milestone in five months.
The stipulated time is six months from the day of issue of the work order.
The temporary capital buildings are to be used by the CRDA once the actual capital takes shape. Coming to the technical bidders, both L&T and SPCL have rich experience in the fields of engineering and real estate and have built world-class premium properties across the country.
They specialise in a wide range of constructions and excel in architectural designing as well. Who will emerge the successful bidder will be known next week.
